Hello my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

This is going to be a really short post!
We were given a final challenge at VC_Rocks to find a magazine article and match a card or scrapbook page to it. We could only use SU colors and products and were instructed to get as close to the color of the photo or inage a s much as possible.
Here is the image I chose;

This is the cad I came up with;

This is my first attempt at doing a punch card from a picture! I think it came out really cute and have just the recipient for it.

We are off to hunt for a rental home closer to Jeff's work. His travel time is over an hour and the cars are notgetting any younger!Wish us luck!

Hoppy Easter All

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

I had just a few minutes to make an Easter card for my friend who's house we are going over to this evening to have dinner and a movie.

Hope you like it! The hardest part of this whole card was the grass! I cut through it 2 times, lost it once and remade it a total of 4 times!!!! Then I noticed in the photo, I covered it up with my watermark?  I guess it was just not meant to be noticed lolol hehe.
I especially hope everyone is having or had a great day!

Saturday is for loafing around!

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

It's going to be another short one today. So much to do so little time... ha! I sat on my butt all day now, I need to get busy! Not all together true! I did a challenge for vc rocks, talked to a couple girlfriends on the phone, reviewed about 130 e-mails, took pictures of a girlfriends wedding dress and e-mailed them to her Mom, I watered the back yard, cleaned out my Moms car and did a quick wash up on it and gave it to my sister,  played a few games of solitaire on the computer while Jeff and I chatted, made coffee &  cooked lunch,  washed and folded a load of laundry... Doesn't seem like much but I guess it is a lot??

Now I have to cook dinner and do some more packing. So much for loafing around!

Here is the Wedding Dress she got it at a thrift store for $60.00. I was so impressed, it is so beautiful! It is from David Bridal. It just needs to be cleaned  and pressed. They are renewing their vows and having a small reception- The idea is too cute really!          And below the dress pictures is my card for you to check out If you have time today lolololol

It Sketch Frenzy Friday Time

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

Welcome to Sketch Frenzy Friday's Blog Hop! We have a really cool sketch for you today. Robbie Rubala thought this one up and I think she did a great job with it!  You may have come here from Melinda blog http://melindasstampingcorner.blogspot.com/ . Melinda always comes up with some very nice projects she pays a lot of attention to details which is really nice.
Here is this weeks sketch.

and this is what I came up with.

I have never used the SU Cork before. It worked well in the Big Shot and was easy to use. I used the Circle #2 Die to make the two circles. Then I distressed the edges of the larger one with Daffodil Delight to make the moon and Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler for the edges around the wolf circle. I used a sponge to change the color of the Hemp Twine from Natural to Cherry Cobbler and then frayed the ends after I knotted it. You can pretty much see the what I did to the sentiment, again the cork was easy to work with and chipped away fairly easily. I ran a strip of Craft CS through the Lattice Embossing Folder, from that piece I cut two thin strips and added those to the edges of the Cherry Cobbler CS piece. I think it made the Cherry Cobbler piece really pop. I did a light VersaMark application to the Cherry Cobbler background piece with the group of pine trees stamp from the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set. You know Wolves and the Forrest a Full Moon... Wow, I can hear him howling right now lololol. Oh PS. The wolf is from the In Wilderness Stamp Set. This set is one of my favorites from the Big Catalog.

Then I did a little decorating to the inside of the card. The sentiment is from the Just Believe Stamp Set.

From here your next stop on the Blog Hop will take you to Robbie Rubala's blog http://inkedx2.blogspot.com/
Robbie always has something wonderful to share with us and she is the creator of this weeks sketch. We welcome you to make a card of your own from this sketch and post it on our main blog. http://sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/  I would love to see what you all have come up with, as I get so much inspiration from viewing your sketches.
Let me know what you think about the card and or any the techniques I used that you may have questions about.
Now it is your turn, go and create something fun.

More Workshop Cards

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

There is so much to do before a move YIKES!!!!! I have been packing and throwing away things . We have given a ton of things to the Salvation Army as well. Anything else we are not taking is going to my daughters new apt. Furniture, Refrigerator Linens, Dishes and that sort of thing...
We have recently made the decision to help out Jeff's mom. She has COPD and she is slowing down a bit. She has a huge property with 2 horses and 3 garden area's. I'm sad to be leaving My Little Patch of Dirt but we will be going to a bigger and better patch of dirt. I am taking a lot of the flowers with us as they came from my Mother In Laws garden in the first place. There are paved roads (Yippee) and it is not in a Fire Watch Canyon area with only one way out (Bigger Yippee). It is closer to the Ontario Airport and closer to most of our old friends.
Just know I should be blogging more regularly by the middle of  May (God Willing)!  Please be kind enough to stop in and check if I am up and running and know that I just haven't fell off the face of the earth!!!
Our move is scheduled for the first week in May and there will be some down time then. But for now I'll post as much as possible!!!!!

Here is another card from our workshop. I hope you like it!
Now it is your turn to go and create something fun!
Thanks for stopping by.

April Workshop

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

Hi everyone I hope you had a great weekend and have all settled into another great week.

We had a really fun workshop this weekend, we made 3 cards , I showed the girls how to make beautiful flowers with the  Blossom Petals Punch     and the Build a Blossom Stamp Set (another two step stamping set)
and a really cute and very easy to make Easter Basket ... of course it was filled with Yummy Candy!!!

This week I am so slammed I must, must, must complete my 2 swaps and maybe if I am able get a jump start on the 3rd one!!! Wish me luck .  Then of course I need to make a super card for our Sketch Frenzy Friday Blog Hop and there was something else I had to do. Geeze if I don't write things down I will forget..... I'll think of it later I hope????
I remembered (one hour later)!!!! I was commissioned to make a Wedding Favor. I have the idea but need to make a prototype first.

So what I have planned is to show you the cards we made at the workshop one a t a time for the rest of the week or until Thursday at least. Friday is already book (Big Smile)

This is the first card we made. Somehow I got a smudge on my sample and had to add a few pearls to the top left corner to cover up the oops!
I always use what I call a warm up card to get the ladies well ... Warmed Up! This is an example of a Clean and Simple card. No extra  stamping or embossing to the background sheet and or layers. Just plain and simple.
I used the Fast and Fabulous Hostess # 2 stamp set to explain the Two Step Stamping Tech. The only real embellishments on the card are the Bow and the 3 Tiny Tags. I used a scrap of Kraft (Crumb Cake) CS that was embossed with the Lattice Impressions Folder for one of the tags. A small piece of Linen Thread was used to tie the tags to the bow. That's it a nice and easy warm up card.

Did you all have a chance to check out the VC_Rocks Video? http://goanimate.com/movie/0bhg2tcmPync It's really informative and funny. I love the English accent on one of the characters. We are accepting new members starting May 1st so keep and eye out for the invite. http://vcrocks.blogspot.com/

Now it is your turn, go create something fun!

Create with Connie and Mary

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!
(Scroll all the way down to see more about VC_Rocks) We are open for fun!!!!!!

This has to be a really short post as I am getting ready for a class tomorrow and I still have a few last minute items to pack up. It is going to be a sort of bitter sweet class today as my "Hostess of the Mostess" is moving out of state (Tears). Besides being a regular Hostess, I have developed a friendship with her and will miss her laughter and our fun conversations. Sandra expect to be contacted by e-mail regularly my friend!!! You will be missed by all of us!

I had a moment to look over my e-mails finally and I saw a really fun color challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/. What do you think about this wonderful color combination?

These colors are right up my alley. I love Bold Bright Colors. The first thing that came to mind was an orange Hibiscus.  I knew I could make one with the Build a Blossom Punch. Once you get the hang of it it is really easy to use and you can create some really fun things with it.  The punch has 3 different flower patterns and 2 leaf patterns to choose from. That enables you to create some really pretty flowers.
This is my interpretation of their Color Challenge. Flowers, Flowers, Flowers. I hope you like it!
I really liked making this card. It made me feel like I was far away from the hustle and bustle of city life and on some tropical island. Come along and join me lololo.

VC_ROCKS Is open for Returning Members  Check out our new Video here , it is really cute.
http://goanimate.com/movie/0bhg2tcmPync

Happy Birthday Bookmark Fold Card

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

Bzy, Bzy, Bzy, Casey my moms little Min Pin got her first set of shots and a A-OK Check up last Friday. On Monday I took her to get fixed. I thought that little dog would hate me by now (Yikes! Not her again) every time I take her for a ride it's always to the vets office lolol Poor thing, but yesterday she was really happy to see me??? It's a good thing  she doesn't hold a grudge lololol. I could just imagine her nipping at my ankles when I go to visit my Mom!!!

My daughter will find out in the next few days if she will get an apt she is looking at. Pray for her please, we could use the prayers! I'll tell you more about it in a day or so I don't want to get too excited just in case. But What a View!

VC-Rocks starts up this weekend for previous members YIPPEE!!!! New members will be able to sign up beginning May 1st. VC is a lot of fun! This will be my 3rd summer and I have always enjoyed  making new friends and stamping like crazy!!! We have Weekly Challenges, Monthly Swaps, Monthly Blog Hops, Games, Prizes, a Virtual Hotel (with music and pool boys of your choice, it's virtual of course) Classrooms & Make N Takes just to mention a few of the activities. I will have more info as time gets closer to sign ups but if you are interested in a HIGH VOLUME E-MAIL virtual Stampin' Up Convention e-mail me for more info, you will be glad you did.

I got to stamp most of the day today. I finished cutting materials for 3 cards for a class I am teaching this weekend. I just have one more surprise and a couple hostess items to make then I am done. I finished my card for Sketch Frenzy Friday's Blog Hop. I submitted a project for approval and I am working on 2 swaps that I am over due on.

I had a dream about a card with a bookmark in it last night. (Yes I have stamping dreams & Yes I said it out loud) lolol

I don't remember exactly what the card looked like in my dream, but it was a Fancy Fold Card and it had a bookmark?
So this is what I came up with. I hope you like it. If you have any questions please leave me a message and I'll get right back to you. I believe this to be my own design, so please if you would like to CASE it just send them back this way OK. It Folds up small and ties with Cherry Cobbler Seam binding as in picture #1. It has two pockets inside, one for money or a gift card as you will see in picture 2.

Picture #2 holds the bookmark, notice how it faces toward the front and the pretty flower shows! But once open.

as in picture #3 the flowers face the back.

Picture #4 is the back of the card folded all the way out. This view you can see the flower on the book mark.
I cut a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock length wise 4 1/4 x 11. It is scored at 3 11/16ths & 7 5/16ths. Folded up it it 3 3/4th wide and 4 1/4 tall. The Bookmark is 5 5/8s x 2 1/8th.
I used Night of Navy and Red Riding hood card stock, Night of Navy & Soft Suede Classic Ink. The flower is punched from Occasions Mini Build a Blossom Punch, The sentiments are from the Hostess Set Afterthoughts.
I used the New Pre-order DSP Paisley Petals. This paper is really beautiful in person.

That is all there is to it. Now it is your turn to go and create something fun!

Look what I picked from my Garden!

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you well and happy!

It rained most of the week, thank goodness my garden needed watering (Smile). One clear moment I went outside and cut a bunch of Irises. Some of the purple ones get to be about 3.5 ft. high. The Yellow are always around 2 ft. I love the lacy look to the petals.

A day after I cut them I had to put them into 2 vases as the blooms were getting squashed. These flowers made me so happy. My Little Patch of Dirt produces many beautiful surprises throughout the year, this is just one of them.

This morning I was messing around with some left over plane pieces I had made from a card a few weeks ago and came up with this card.

The planes are supposed to be flying at nigh time to bring the birthday man a special message. I put just a few rhinestones in the background to simulate stars. Jeff says a mans card has to have hardware on it, so I added some from an old SU Hodgepodge kit. I used Sandi MacIver's  http://www.sandimaciver.com 3 color embossing powder tech on the top plane. How did I do? Does this card look like what I was trying to convey?

I'm off to do something fun today or may be just rest and watch a movie and drink some Hot Coco. It is so cold out side I'm frozen already! Remember, I am a wimpy Californian! If it is under 65 degrees I'm frozen solid. I would never make it back east. I don't know if peoples blood gets thicker  in time to adjust to the climate or not, in order for you to live in the snow. I see the beautiful pictures of your yards with snow on them and I am just amazed that you all can and do love to live in Seasonal areas? Give me 90 degrees and a nice little breeze and "It's All Good" with me lololol.

Stay warm everyone and take care. Summer will be here soon enough and I'll stop whinning lolol. Some other time we will talk about Earthquakes vs Tornadoes YIKES!
It's your turn now, go create something fun.

Create with Connie and Mary # 145

Hello to all my blogging friends.Hope this post finds you all well and happy!

I have been MIA most of the week Yikes! As you know my honey was on vacation this week. All good things must come to an end and Honey goes back to work tomorrow Boo! We had fun just hanging around visiting with friends and family. We had Dinner and a Movie night and watched a crazy movie called Kung Fu Hustle. It's hysterical!
This movie will make anyone laugh, even if you don't like Kung Fu movies. It's subtitled so the crew wasn't as loud but there was lot's of laughter and tons of BBQ Tacos yum, yum! I love having him home but I can not get anything done. Enough of that, lets talk stamping...

I had a moment to make a card today and was finally able to get it posted. The sketch is from Connie and Mary  http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com  It's a nice and easy one - thank goodness!
and this is what I came up with;
I used lots of Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White on this card. I used the New 4 Frames stamp set that Demos were able to purchase early. When ever I use a water color type stamp I pull out my handy markers and go to town!
Well that's it for this evening. PLEASE COME BACK TOMORROW for our Sketch Frenzy Friday Blog Hop. I've got a masculine card to show you.
Now it is your turn to go and create something fun.

Color Throwdown 135 & Mary Jo's Lunchtime Sketch

Hello my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

Wow! Have I missed you all. Jeff has been on vacation since last Thursday so we have been out and about for the last few days. It's nice having him home but my schedule goes out the window when he is around. (Smile)
I was going through withdrawals because of not stamping for a few days, so after we came back from dinner tonight with friends, I stamped this card!
I saw my new favorite color combination over at Color Throw Down  http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2011/03/color-throwdown-135.html and knew I would make something fun with that bit of inspiration.
Then I saw Mary Jo's Lunchtime Sketch http://www.technostamper.blogspot.com   and combined them both! Well sort of ???? I took a huge liberty with Mary Jo's sketch but it really does have all the elements in it. I think this is what's called artistic interpretation. This is how I interpreted her sketch.

Let me know what you think about the color combo and the Gate Fold Card. It's after Midnight I'm off to bed. I will add the supplies I used to this blog later today (I almost said tomorrow lolol). So come back later this afternoon if you want to know how I made all if the elements on this card.

I'M BACK :)

Supplies Used; (All Stampin Up)

Card Stock -  Real Read, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla.
Designer Series Paper  (DSP)- Love Letters & Presto Patterns Specialty.
Classic Ink - Basic Black, Daffodil Delight and a Real Red Marker to out line The Four Frames Stamp and
"just for you" sentiment.
Stamp Sets - Just Believe, Four Frames.
Embellishments - Vanilla Satin Ribbon 24", 3 large half pearls from the Pretties Kit, 1 Sponge Dauber to color the Presto (DSP) in Daffodil Delight, sticky tape, 1 3/8 Punch and your Heat Tool.

How I made the Flower- take the 24" of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and lay it out straight using your Heat Tool heat the ribbon until it starts to bunch and curl. (Caution do not hold Heat Tool in one space longer than it takes the ribbon to bunch and curl as it will burn and turn black!) Punch 1 circle with your Punch and cover it with sticky tape. This flower was started by curling the ribbon in a tight circles and setting the flower center in the center of the taped circle and working your way outward. Most people start from the outside in. I did it from the inside out I felt I could control the flowers shape a lot better. Cut off excess ribbon to your liking. It turned out really nicely. Thanks for your comments about it!
I used the sponge dauber to color the yellow panel and highlight the script writing. Then I cut around the flowers and swirls of the DSP to make the border on the right hand  and inside of the card.

Goodnight everyone sleep tight!
Don't forget to grab some time for your self and go and create something fun.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 4/1/11

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

This is my first post as a Design Team Member for Sketch Frenzy Fridays Weekly Blog Hop. I am so excited to be able to participate with this group and I hope to have a long relationship with them. My goal is to help inspire your creativity and to challenge you to try new and different techniques and designs that you may not have ordinarily have come up with.

First off you may have found my blog while you were visiting over at Melinda Couden's blog http://melindasstampingcorner.blogspot.com     (Hi Melinda) wasn't her card just stunning!

This weeks sketch was designed by Kim Innis, I think it is just a super challenge! There are so many shapes to play around with and a lot of room for your own creativity. Feel free to turn it on it's side or move the shapes around. It was designed to challenge us and to get our creative mojo flowing.

This is the card that I came up with. I would be interested in hearing about what you think about it, so please leave me a comment. I am giving away a bit of Blog Candy to celebrate this first Blog Hop and for getting 26,000 hit on my blog. What a week!
This is a close up picture of the interactive flap on the front of the card
and here is a photo of the inside of the card,

 Supplies used:
Kraft, Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke card stock.
New Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper. I just love this paper! Oh My Goodness Beautiful you have to see it.!
4 Punches-Jewelry Tag Medium, 1 3/8 inch circle, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and the small Oval from the Holiday Mini.
3 stamp set- Hostess Level One- Silhouette Sentiments for the words on the Tiny Tags on the front of the card. Nature Walk also on the front of the card and Thank You from Plane & Simple used on the inside of the flap on the bird cage. I used black marker to color in the Bird Cage because I wanted to wipe away the center of the cage to stamp in "Thank You" and then draw around the word so that it stood out. Then I used the small Oval Punch so that you can see Thank You from the front.
Pearls, Hemp Twine, two little brads and a safety pin from the Vintage Trinkets set. Crochet Trim Victoria 5/8", Sticky Strip to hold down the Crochet Trim on to the back of the 1 3/8 circle. I drew a circle with Old Olive Marker around the edge of the 1 3/8" circle to give it depth. Stampin Dimensional's.
Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy and Basic Black Markers were used to color all of the stamped images.
I cut out one flower and mounted it on to the front of the 1 3/8" circle, then I added a few Pearls to add some Wow to the card. I then  cut out a couple little strips of the DSP to decorate the inside of the card. That's all there is to it.

Thanks for Stopping by today it is much appreciated! Don't forget to leave a comment.
