Sketch Frenzy Friday 2/28/14

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

WOW, what a great sketch we have for you this week!  Robin Messenheimer     created it and I had a blast making my card. It always helps when your new Stampin' Up Supplies arrive (Big Smile)!

Here is this weeks sketch;

and this is what I created from it;

I followed the sketch almost exactly because I really liked the shapes and the pattern on it.

Card Stock

Whisper White, Basic Black and  Pistachio Pudding.
Designer Series Paper
Eastern Elegance and Modern Medley.
Stamp Set
Layered Labels and Feels Good.
Framelits
Apothecary Accents and Labels Collection.
Embellishments
8mm Rhinestones, Itty Bitty Shapes (Floral) punch and Retro Fresh "This and That" Designer Wasabi Tape
Ink
Basic Black

Instead of the bow and the ribbon strip that runs through the center of the card I improvised a bit. In place of the bow I punched a little black flower and cut two tiny strips of black CS to make the little award embellishment. For the Pistachio Pudding strip that is on top of the thin black strip of CS I used two layers of the "This and That Wasabi Tape. (Note to self one layer was not enough to make the color pop!) I added a bunch of small rhinestones to the sentiment where the end of the words swirl. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of Pistachio Pudding CS and cut out with one of the 6 die cut pieces from the Framelits Labels Collection.

Now for a look at the inside

To make the sentiment piece, I first stamped the sentiment on a piece of Pistachio Pudding CS with basic black ink. Then, I selected a coordinating die cut from the Framelits- Apothecary Accents 4 die pieces.
One of the great things about Stampin Up (SU) is that so many of our products coordinate. The Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies and the Layered Labels stamp set are just one example of our many coordinating pieces. I used our SU Big Shot to cut all of the die cut pieces used on this card. Finally, I created another matching strip of Wasabi Tape and black CS and added that to the bottom of the inside of the card for a finished look.

I really like how this card turned out. I hope you do too! Please give this weeks sketch a try we would love to see what you create from it.  Just add it to our blog here  http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/
If you have not tried our amazing Stampin' Up products in the past you should give us a try. I love the huge selection of products we have to select from.

That's all for this weeks sketch challenge. I hope you find time in your busy schedules to create something fun.

On a more personal note, Jeff had his MRI on Sunday and an appointment with a Pain Management Dr on Monday. He is scheduled for a special procedure on the 10th of March. They are going to do a Image Guided Injection on a joint in his back. It looks like he has some damage to a joint near the spine that is causing him all  this severe pain. So, at least we can move forward now and get his darn pain under control. It has been three weeks and he is getting stir crazy. Poor guy he needs to get back to work or he is going to go nuts.

I hope you all have a great week and we will chat again real soon I am sure.
Take care, Patrice

Welcome to your new home

Hello to all my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

We got some great news from some friends of ours back in CA. They just bought a  house!! That is such great news! Congratulations Mel and Ellen!!. We know  the joy and exhaustion that they are feeling about purchasing their new home  lol lol. They told us about all the wonderful repairs and upgrades that they are doing to the house and also how sore they were. Boy can I relate.

I had a few minutes today and made them a "Congratulation" card.
What do you think!

I used the new Watercolor Wonder DSP. I love all the lovely patters and colors this set has in it.  I really like how it turned out. I think they will too.

Now for a look at the inside.

Well that's it for today. I just thought you might want to take a look at it.

I hope you find some time today to create something fun.

Patrice

Sketch Frenzy Friday 2/21/14

Hello my blogging friends I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

It's SFF time again and what a great sketch we have for you this week. Diane Eichfeld designed it and I thought it was a really fun one to work with . Here is a look at her sketch.

This is my interpretation;

I loved all the fun lines and circular shapes. I chose bright solid colors and used  lots of different Embossing Folders  for some interesting texture.I kept the background solid so as not to take away from the sketch's elements. I love it when a card creates it's self.

Card Stock;
Kraft, Tangerine Tango, Blushing Bride,  Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White .
Ink; Basic Black
Embellishments;
I added a few strands of Calypso Coral Bakers Twine and made a cute little fringe star burst from it. The Banner was stamped and cut with the matching Die set  Bitty Banners.  I always add a touch of bling, this time with a few Pearls.  The circles were cut out from the Circle #2 Original Die. I hand cut the Wavy trim by first  using the Simply Scored Border Plate and following the impression. Additional circles cut from 1/4 " and 1/2" punch.
Embossing Folders;
Honey Comb, Fancy Fan, Square Lattice and Polka Dot.

Here is a look at the inside;

The inside sentiment is from the Feel Goods stamp set.

Well that's it for today. I hope you like our sketch and give it a try. We would love to see what you come up with.  Just add it to our homepage here. http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/

On a personal note my honey Jeff has been in a ton of back pain this month. We thought it was one thing and he had minor surgery last Tuesday, but it appears that did not do the trick. We are scheduling an MRI and additional Dr's appts for this week. Please put us in your thoughts and Prayers we can use them to figure out what in the heck is going on with him?????

Have a great week and I hope you find some time to create something fun.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 2/14/14 Valentines Day

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

                         Happy Valentines Day to you all!!

I'm actually a bit spoiled my Honey Jeff gives me Valentines Day Presents all year long. He is always bringing me home some nice gift or thoughtful item. He remembers if I say in passing I like this or that and low and behold it shows up on my desk. I am blessed to have found him. I know I am loved and he knows that I love him too! He is the nicest man I have ever met. We have been through a lot in the last 9 years and every time we come through a tough time we become closer and more bonded. I thank God every day for my "Big Strong Man" so I made this card for him! OK, OK enough of the mushy stuff...On with the reason you are really here smile!

It's SFF time and we have another fantastic sketch to create with today. It was designed by Heidi Michel, and here it is!

This is what I came up with,

A fancy Valentine for my Honey. I used the Hearts a Flutter Dies to cut out a large heart from SU Silver Gilmmer Paper, a couple banners and a little red heart. I attached a bunch of Rhinestones to the little red heart for some extra Bling! I attached a ruffle to the back of the large heart by sewing a loose seam through the edge of our Organza Ribbon and then pulling on it until it formed a ruffle. I attached the ruffle to the back of the large heart with a piece of SU Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets. To pop it up I used a few Stampin Dimentionals.There are two banner pieces to make the arrow. They were embossed with clear embossing powder to make them shiny.The background piece of Real Red and Basic Black was ran through the Big Shot Machine using the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder. The "with Love" sentiment is from the Field Flowers stamp set.

Now here is a look at the inside,

I made a couple more banners and punched a red heart that I cut in half and then placed a white large oval punched piece which I stamped the wonderful sentiment from the "Field Flowers" stamp set . Well that's it for today. I hope you find some time to create something fun too.

My thoughts and prayers are with those of us who got hit by the snow storm. We got over 18 " of snow. Thank God our neighbour had access to a tractor with a plough as we would never have dug out of this one!!!! Thanks Bo. I hope you are all safe and warm.

We would love to see what you come up with from this sketch. Please post it on our blog here so we can see it;  http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/

Sketch Frenzy Friday 2/7/14

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

It is official, I am back and it feel great! It has been awhile hasn't it! I sure did miss my Sketch Frenzy Friday Design Team Ladies  and all the fun SFF sketches we have to work with. This year we added several new team members to the group and boy are they a very talented bunch of ladies. Check them out on our home page.

This weeks sketch was designed by Jennifer Kay!   It was a lot of fun and a bit of a challenge for me to work with btw.

Here is Jennifers sketch.

And this is what I came up with.

I used a Whisper White card base that I ran through the Big Shot with the Chevron Embossing Folder. Then cut two large banners from Rose Red and Tangerine Tango.  I paired those with a few strips of Marina Mist card stock for a little extra pop. I stamped a couple floral images from the Secret Garden stamp set in Versa Mark to make a bit of a background on the Tangerine Tango piece. The "Happy Birthday" sentiment was made with the Bitty Banners Die and the Iitty Bitty Banner stamp set. I used the 1 1/4 Scallop Circle punch to make my floral image and the double x 2 bow was made with Calypso Coral Bakers
Twine. I added a small piece of a Tea Lace Paper Doilies at the end of the banner to add some depth and added  a few pearls for some bling.

Here is a look at the inside

A matted  piece of Whisper White card stock was stamped in Basic Black Ink using one of the pieces from the From My Heart stamp set. I mounted the Whisper White piece on a piece of Marina Mist just to make it look a little extra special.

We would love to see what you come up with by using our sketch. Try making it a real challenge by using only our amazing Stampin Up products??? Pull out your stash of SU goodies and see what evolves. Upload your creations here: http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/
we would love to see them.

I made more cards this week than I have in months. I finished two months worth of my card club cards, so I am all caught up there finally.  I'll show you those real soon.  It feels great to get my fingers inky again!!!!!
